The Jersey Bailiff’s Island Appeal, set up by the Bailiff of Jersey, to support those people who have been affected by the maritime tragedy, off the North West coast of Jersey, on Thursday 8 December or the explosion at the block of flats at Pier Road, St Helier, in the early hours of Saturday 10 December, has received a £20,000 donation from Jersey Freemasons.
Graham Spence, Head of Jersey Freemasons, said “A fundamental value of being a Freemason is to act charitably towards others at all times. Our hearts go out to all those families affected by these double tragedies, particularly at a time which should be one of happiness and goodwill during the Festive season. This donation has been made up with funds from all of the different sections of the Freemasonry community here in Jersey and, we hope, will go some way to helping those who have lost loved ones and all of the possessions. Our thoughts and prayers will be with them over the Festive period”
