It is important to note that joining Freemasonry will require a personal commitment of time. Lodges meet between four times and ten times per year. In those months there will be a formal meeting and an informal meeting / instruction. Members of the Lodge are expected to attend the formal meeting.
Freemasonry teaches that a member's first duty is to himself, his wife or partner, his family and his profession. There is scope for as little or as much involvement in Freemasonry as each individual member chooses to have.
It is also important to note that the purpose of Freemasonry is moral and spiritual improvement, not the gaining of any material or pecuniary advantage. Freemasonry is neither a benefit nor a secret society.
