In 1941, most of the contents of the Masonic Temple were removed to form part of an anti-Masonic exhibition in Berlin.
The Masonic Temple was sacked in 1941 and most of the contents were removed. The German authorities wanted an anti-Masonic exhibition in Berlin, and in preparation for this, the main lodge room and the upper room were carefully photographed. Armed with these photographs and the actual contents of the building, the rooms were carefully recreated.
Recently a photographic album (part of the library collected by W.Bro ACF Cosby-Jackson) has been returned to the Jersey Masonic Library and Museum and from this we have the actual pictures taken by the Germans. From the website United States Holocost Museum, we have photographs of the museum exhibits which show how accurately they recreated the rooms.
